You are a treasure.

The Fashion Visa: Shop Smart

You discover a new dress, Chase it down and wear it to the Citi. ONCE or TWICE- A(t)mex.

It is a real ‘Confessions of a Shopaholic’ moment for you, splitting the bill into all your almost maxed out credit cards. Well yes, having multiple credit cards with multiple different benefits and cash back offers are tempting. Have you wondered about the different annual fees you’re paying or APR? Oh, purchase interest is not a myth.

Not once in this blog will I convince you to stop shopping or shred your credit cards. I want you to shop for the bag you’ve been saving up for, the dress you will wear after you lose all the weight, the vacation that gets you through tough days. It’s all valid and of course you’re doing the economy a big service. I can bet your Amex can lift heavier than your PR.

I just want to challenge you to buy intentionally. Have you thought of your credit card as this emotional partner who LOVES to be tapped and swiped. Something that love bombs with cash back, shows loyalty with rewards, surprises you with lounge perks- all the things you appreciate. How do you give back? I want you to help it feel safe with no missed or late payments, show affection by purchasing investment pieces and spoil it by automatic payments.

This post is a reminder to You and I for treating our credit card and clothes with respect. That dress isn’t your camera roll, it won’t ask for a monthly storage fee for the memories you made in it. I believe clothes are meant to be truly worn and worn out. Take it as a challenge to style it a different way than the last. You should be exhausting your options not your credit card.

Show me if you can resist the cheap thrills and invest in quality:
